Fukuoka, famous for it's ancient temples, art, shopping and ramen, is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture and the largest city on the island of Kyushu.
I only went there for the one day, so there is much that I didn't get a chance to see, so I would recommend staying at least a couple of days to anyone else thinking of going.
Anyway, here's what I did see...
Kushida Shrine
Fukuoka Asia Art Museum/ out and about the City
Canal City- a huge shopping center and one of Fukuoka's main tourist attractions. It also contains a delicious ramen stadium!
It had a Studio Ghibli shop- Yay more money spent on things I don't need!
Finally.... MOOMIN CAFE
This place was completely packed when I arrived, so I had to come back a couple of hours later... Who knew Moomins were so popular in Japan??
Their products are over priced for what they are, but they still taste good!
Plus they're super cute! Pineapple cake, yum!
When I came here after rush hour it was fairly quiet. I actually picked a table without a Moomin because I thought it would be weird. The waitress still brought this guy over to sit with me anyway...
... and I was right. It was kind of weird.
